Tooth Bonding

What is tooth bonding?

Tooth bonding or dental bonding involves placing tooth-colored materials onto the teeth using high-tech techniques that cause them to adhere to the teeth with high strength.

This technique is excellent for minor defects in the front teeth, such as chips or spots.

If there is a small space between the front teeth, dental bonding can be used to widen the teeth and thus close the space.

People sometimes wonder why dentists don’t use this technique more and instead use crowns or porcelain veneers for these minor defects. The answer is because tooth bonding requires a considerable amount of artistic skill, since the restorative materials are shaped freehand directly onto the tooth. Many dentists don’t feel comfortable doing this. Dr. Malone, however, is not just a dentist but an artist, too, and is highly skilled with these techniques.
